Proud Pleasures: Coconut Bliss Organic Ice Cream Review + Giveaway
I am not going to lie: the words “gluten-free” scare me. As soon as I see them written across even the most delicious looking product, I immediately put it back on the shelf. Gluten-free makes me think of cardboard, of Styrofoam, of insipid food that is mean to keep you alive and not to give you pleasure.
But I have recently found the errors of my way and I have no other than Luna & Larry’s Coconut Bliss to thank for this! Organic, vegan, dairy, soy, and gluten free, this ice cream line is just to delicious for words. The flavors (Naked Coconut, Dark Chocolate, Vanilla Island, Mint Galactica, Cappuccino, Cherry Amaretto, Strawberry Lemon Love, Chocolate Hazelnut Fudge, as well as 3 new flavors coming out this June) are marvelous and creamy, never for a fraction of a second giving any hint that you are actually eating something that is good for you.

The Naked Coconut is by far my favorite and I can pronounce and recognize EVERY ingredient on the label: Organic Coconut Milk, Organic Agave Syrup, Organic Dried Coconut, Organic Coconut Extract, Organic Fair Trade Vanilla Extract). It has the best texture for ice cream (rock solid!) and melts slowly as you eat it. The fact that it is Fair Trade – as are the other flavors!- just adds another dimension to this wonderful product.
Luna & Larry’s Coconut Bliss is not just an alternative for all who have food allergies or dietary restriction – it is a must eat/try/indulge for everyone out there. Try it – you’ll see what I mean!
Would you like to try it? Here’s your chance!
Go to the Luna & Larry’s Coconut Bliss website and find the flavor you like most, come back here and leave me a comment with that name. On June 19th, 2009 I’ll randomly select 1 winner who will receive a coupon good for 1 Coconut Bliss product, to be redeemed anywhere Coconut Bliss is sold. Contest runs from May 28th to June 19th. Winner will be announced on or around June 20th and contacted by email.

I LOVE all of their flavors and it just depends on my mood and my migraine status (chocolate & migraine do not play well together) as to which one I'll choose. It also depends on the dinner menu. Usually keep 2-3 flavors in my freezer. I guess my all time favorite is the Mint Galactica.
