Have you a scent-snob in your life? Yes, a scent-snob, one of those people who have opinions – and lots of them – about the everyday scent one meets everywhere in the world. They find most of them cheap, nauseating, and ordinary. Here are some suggestions to keep even the most discerning of noses happy and wiggle-free!

jo malone amber lavenderJo Malone Amber & Lavender ($70)

I love everything about this fragrance. It’s deep, warm, exotic, and delicate all at the same time. The bergamot and citrus top notes beautifully balanced with spearmint, lavender, and amber, creating a unisex (my husband keeps “accidentally” using it!), perfect for the cold months scent.

Liz Hoffman Variations ($95)

You have heard me sing the glories of the Variations Fragrance line. Based on the ingenious concept that the same fragrance is not appropriate and/or wanted at all times of the day and night, Variations offers 4 -yes, you guessed it! – variations on 1 scent: Morning, Daytime, Evening, and Bedtime. With 5 different scents, and a beautiful leather pouch, this is almost like getting 4 presents in one! Choose from Tuscan Fig, Tunisian Neroli, Japanese Agarwood, and
Madagascar Orchid (my favorite!).

Casa di Francesca english-leather

Casa di Francesca Diffusers ($29)

When I discovered this collection of affordable luxurious home fragrances, my heart skipped a beat. With more than 20 incredibly complex (and yet so simple!) scents, all beautifully housed in hand-crafted decorative Italian glass bottles, these diffusers last and last. The secret? Both the sticks (Rattan Reed Diffuser Sticks – porous little guys with tons of channels for more fragrance in less time) and the scents (high quality oils that strong enough to infuse a whole room with the most wonderful smells). Try English Garden – my favorite scent.
