Those of you who come here often know that I don’t do makeup. I don’t mean that I don’t wear makeup – I simply do not know how to wear makeup. So the smoky eye, the holy grail of makeup application, has eluded me for decades. Not anymore. Covergirl is turning every one into a at-home makeup artist with Smoky Shadowblast Eye Color.

A simple (yet clever) two-step system for creating fool-proof, amazing smoky eyes, Shadowblast comes in six different colors bound to complement your natural eye colors and smoke them!

How? It’s easy: first sweep the rounded end of the shadow stick over the entire lid and below the lower  lash line; then use the angled end along upper and lower lash line and crease for added definition.  Apply mascara and go! You can make it as dark or as light as you like, which is great. I use this everyday to go to work, making a subtle line along lashes, and then re-apply after work for a bolder look if I know I’m going somewhere. It could not be easier! Here it is in Bronze Fire:

Word of caution: after applying the shadow to lid, pat it down with your fingers to help spread it evenly. I found out it helps keep it from accumulating along lid folds throughout the day.
