Have your own Eat Pray Love adventure
“I think I deserve something beautiful.”
— Elizabeth Gilbert (Eat, Pray, Love)
A late comer to Eat Pray Love (I just read it a few months ago), I’m giddy with excitement at the prospect of watching Gilbert’s adventures in Italy, India, and Indonesia brought to life by Julia Roberts this Friday (August 13th). Though I’m not a big fan of he-dumped-me-but-now-i-found-love-again type of stories, Eat spoke to me about finding faith and how integral this elusive feeling is to living a balanced life.
So since I can offer you no faith or a trip around the world, I thought I’d offer a few great products from Italy, India, and Indonesia to help you stay beautiful and happy on the outside while you work on the mysteries of the inside.
Italy: Davines Essential Hair Care: Lovely Smoothing Shampoo and Conditioners for Harsh & Frizzy Hair
“The Lovely Smoothing Shampoo uses prickly pear extract to provide an intense moisturizing action to hair and scalp. It delicately cleanses, while Indian Fig Extract ‘heals’ hair cuticles leaving it manageable. Lovely Smoothing Conditioner then works to replenish. This creamy formula contains vitamin E to restore hair damaged from overstyling, rice bran wax to moisturize and borage oil to nourish the hair and scalp preventing further problems. The blend of moisturizers and silicones leaves hair soft, shiny, static free and manageable.”
Shampoos: $22, Conditioners: $25 at www.davines.com for salon locations
India: Thymes Tamarind Lychee Collection
“The fruits of passion entwine, transporting you to a garden of earthly delights. A place where refreshing white grapefruit, tamarind, lychee blossom and zest of yuzu are warmed with aromatic ginger and smooth, creamy coconut milk to awaken and invigorate the senses.”
Candle ($26), Home Fragrance Mist ($17), Reed Diffuser ($60) and Votive Candle ($11) at www.thymes.com
Indonesia: Pratima Love Oil for All Skin Types
“This unique, nurturing body oil is sweet and spicy “just like love itself,” explains Dr. Pratima Raichur. Pure organic essences of Cinnamon, Clove and Cardamom combine to create the warm, nurturing feeling of being cared for, while nourishing Sweet Almond Oil works with Lavender, Rose and Vanilla to hydrate, soothe and deeply soften the skin.”
All products from Pratima are eco friendly, all natural and made with the highest quality & purity of botanicals from sustainable farms in the US and India
